Cyber Cafe to Yahoo !
I had a super senior during B.Tech who was not very good at studies and didn't get an A+ in his papers. He used to while away his time playing video games in a nearby cyber cafe. He was good at programming skills and had always wanted to build a website of his own. His friends got placed in companies like Wipro, Infosys and TCS but he couldn't even sit for those interviews as he didn't have the necessary cut-off CGPA score. A little disheartened, he went back to that same cyber cafe to play another session and have a lighthearted banter with the host of that cyber cafe.
After 4 years....
He was still jobless and in his free time he had created a complete end-to-end social media website. He had been a buddy to the host of that cyber cafe and hence he didn't even had to pay for his time at the cafe. Even though the website was lousy and wasn't as famous as Facebook, people from foreign countries had become its member and were using it. With no source of income, our guy went for a walk-in interview of Yahoo in 2009. He didn't have any job experience which other contenders had. He had only one achievement -- his lousy social media platform. Who cracked that job interview?!
Our guy!!
